Great Application and Amazing Developer

I just bought v5 yesterday. So far so good. But I’m going ahead with rating and leaving a review based on my previous experience with v4 (and even back farther than that). I’ve been using Cookie for years now. I love it. The updates are frequent, and this developer seems to be a model developer. I’m happy to see a new version, and I’m happy to throw some more money at it. BECAUSE IT IS GREAT SOFTWARE WITH GREAT SUPPORT. Yes, there were some painful issues for a while with v4, but these were due to DRAMATIC changes to OS X and Safari. Instead of scorn, I think this developer deserves praise for doing a fantastic job with the incredibly difficult mountain Apple dropped on the developer with increased security and sandboxing. I know the average user probably can not understand, but I do (I’m a software engineer), and I say GOOD JOB!!

Far too many people think things should be free or freemium, etc… I think most folks don’t understand the amount of work that goes into developing great software, and that is sad. We are missing out on amazing software from very creative and gifted developers because they can not support themselves due to the broken business models that ultimately boil down to uninformed and entitled users who will go blow unGodly amounts of money on früfrü coffee drinks, but scoff at the idea of having to pay for something that takes a lot of time and dedication to build. Developers aren’t ripping people off, but the vast majority of users are ripping developers off. You are not owed software just for having bought a smart phone or computer. In the end, we all lose if this attitude continues. I’m not saying go buy a ton of software, but I am saying be happy with spending money on well written software with excellent support. This application and developer are well worth spending money on.
