Excellent, and Well-Maintained Tool for Privacy
Its nice to see an app developer respond so quickly to feedback.
Great software, it does what browsers should be doing when you clear cookies/cache from within them. Yet, even with the help of LSO removal addons etc, some get missed, and Cookie 5 snags those missed ones (or at least many of them, we may continue to find more and more places where tracking files similar to cookies are being created and stored by browsers).
The developers response to my request to address the chrome predictor settings (see chrome://predictors to know what Im speaking, er, typing about) and also responded to some general questions I emailed him in under an hour. Theres nothing worse than an unmaintained app (not only do things stop working, they open up security and privacy holes) - so its great to know this developer cares about his app.
I suggest also using the Firefox/Chrome plugins uBlock Origin (and uMatrix if youre up to it), plus keeping your /etc/hosts file up to date with known tracking domains. Then you prevent a lot of cookies being set, and thwart many non-cookie related tracking). Keep in mind there are plenty of ways you are fingerprinted (screen resolution, plugins installed, browser window size, zoom levels, fonts, etc) but all these things definitely help you keep malvertising and small-time data mining firms at bay.
